All southbound lanes of I-280 are blocked Wednesday afternoon due to a police shooting in San Francisco, according to California Highway Patrol.
The police shooting happened on the on-ramp at Mariposa Street, CHP confirmed. No injuries have been confirmed by CHP, and a suspect has been taken into custody.
There is no threat to the public, CHP said. There is no estimated time for the road to reopen.
The closures are near the area of Mariposa Street. CHP sent out the Sig Alert at 4:53 p.m.
Drivers are advised to find alternate routes.
