Melania Trump Says She Doesn’t Trust Secret Service at ‘Top-Level’ to Protect Husband

Former First Lady Melania Trump expressed her doubts that the “top-level” leadership of the U.S. Secret Service can keep her husband Donald Trump safe.

Melania told “Sunday Morning Futures” host Maria Bartiromo that while her and the former president have a “great team” on the ground protecting them, she called into question the agency’s leadership.

“I think there is some holes, something is going on at the top level or it was when that shooting happened,” she said. “I know some people changed the positions but let’s hope that will never happen again.”

“It’s hard to say that you trust right, who you really trust. You want to but it’s always a question mark,” she added.

Former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned ten days after the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania amid the agency’s slow release of details over its failure to protect the president that day.

Her replacement, Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe faced similar scrutiny by Congress after an armed leftist got within the proximity of the former president outside the fence of his golf course in Palm Beach, Florida last month.

The DHS also recently confirmed that at least five kill squads are on U.S. soil trying to take out the former president.

In spite of her doubts about the Secret Service’s leadership, Melania stated her support for Trump returning to Butler where he was first shot on July 13 to finish the rally he had started.

“I think it’s great, I’m supporting him and he is a fighter. He will never stop, he’s on the go every day, he’s helping this country, and he wants to make America great again,” she said.

“He wants to finish what he came to do. To finish his remarks, his speech, and show that we will not stop. One shooter will not stop him,” she added.

Melania last month raised questions about the Secret Service’s failure to spot the shooter on the rooftop at the Butler fairgrounds before he was able to take several shots at the former president.

“I can’t help but wonder why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech,” she noted. “There is definitely more to this story and we need to uncover the truth.”
